Track 3 day 1

I went to the workshop for track 3 earlier today. Track 3 is all about what you can do as an individual.

We started off by introducing ourselves with our name, where we live, and also telling the others what we do to help the environment. We all did a lot of different things, stuff like being a vegetarian, recycling, buying secondhand clothes, going by bus or bike instead of driving a car to school or work. As you can see quite simple things, but all of those small things, makes a difference.

After introducing ourselves we were divided into two groups, one of the groups had a discussion, and the other group had Forum Theater. Forum theatre means that you see a short play, and there is a “problem” in the play, and everyone in the public are allowed to stop the scene, and switch places with one of the actors to help solving the problem, or in this case, win the argument.

One of the short plays was about three youngsters who had won a competition, they used the price money to fulfill a dream of a going to Norway, two of them wanted to go by airplane from Stockholm to Oslo, but one of them felt really bad about going by plane when there was no need to. Our task as viewers was to stop the scene and switch places witch one of the actors, in order to convince the others to go by train instead of airplane.

It was a great way of learning new arguments, and practicing your skills in convincing people, all the exercises were fun, and I think we all enjoyed it and learned a lot!
