Video Conference!

The opening Cermony was very interesting. There were a lot of good speakers from Sweden and Lund. After the cermony there was a video conferance. Me, Abby ,from the US, Malin and another Agnes went to this with our project maneger Brigitta. She's very active in different organizaions and one of CEI (Caretakers of the Enviroment International). I was a confrence in Aberdeen, Scotland, earlier this year and now we were going to talk to some other active caretakers who weren't able to attend earlier. We were talking to students and teachers from Oregon, U.S.A (Abby's hometown, Indonesia, Netherlands, Poland and Hungary. We were mostly talking in small groups and then all together.

An Indonisan girl asked a very intresting question. How is the climatechange affecting your country? In every country there were different answers. In Oregon they had almost had a tornado. Last year they had a big snow storm and sometimes during the winter they have warm periods. The snow storm lasted for almost two weeks, they closed the free ways and the big roads and they didn't have school.
In Indonesia they had problems with their rice crops. They don't now when to harvest because the can't predict the weather. Here in Sweden we have almost no atumn or spring. The summers are very hot and the winters last very long. We have problems at our coasts, the water edge is moving upwards.
This was very intresting, we are from all over the world and still we can see how the climatechange's affecting us all. In different ways of course, some ways are more dangerous than others.

We were also discussing what we can do and how we will make people care about the environment. We came up with some ideas. We think that is very important to learn
people how to separate at source when they're very young. If we learn them how to think from the beginning we might be able to change the whole perspective of the environment. It's important to be visible and show people that they atcually can make a diffrence, and there is people who care.
